Why Aromatherapy?
The two most common ways to use aromatherapy with essential oils, is by inhaling their aromatic molecules or applying them to the skin. The foundations of aromatherapy date back thousands of years and the use of essential oils date back to nearly one thousand years ago. The Chinese are believed to be the first culture to use aromatic plants for well-being, with the use of incense. Essential oils are the liquids that are extracted from many parts of the plant, such as leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, berries, and citrus rinds. Not all essential oils are safe for the skin and some can cause severe negative reactions. All essential oils applied to the skin must be diluted by mixing with a carrier oil, lotion, cream, or soap. Some essential oils have a affinity with a particular organ, while others have a general balancing effect to promote well-being. Aromatherapy is a excellent way of maintaining good health, dealing with everyday stress, and treating various ailments. You do not need to be ill to benefit from aromatherapy. Using daily may help prevent disease, increase mental alertness, calm your mind, and maintain your body in equilibrium. Products that include synthetic ingredients are highly frowned upon in holistic aromatherapy. In addition to essential oils, aromatherapy encourages the use of other natural ingredients including cold-pressed vegetable oils, hydrosols, herbs, sea salts, clays, and muds for their added therapeutic qualities. ALL OF OUR AROMATHERAPY PRODUCTS ARE MADE USING ONLY 100% ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS AND 100% PURE ESSENTIAL OILS AND NEVER ANY ADDED FRAGRANCE OILS OR OTHER SYNTHETIC INGREDIENTS. Essential oils and fragrance or perfume oils are not the same thing. Where essential oils are derived from the true plant and are 100% natural, perfume oils are artificially created fragrances or contain artificial substances and DO NOT offer any of the therapeutic benefits that essential oils do. Please beware of false claims of the word "aromatherapy" on product packaging and advertising. The U.S. does not regulate the use of the word "aromatherapy", so any product can be marketed as a aromatherapy product, even if they use only small amounts of essential oils and add fragrance or perfume oils(both synthetic) in its place. We always advise you read all ingredient labels when looking for aromatherapy and never purchase if a synthetic oil like fragrance of perfume is listed. |
